The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) appointed Brian Cox as the United Nations Champion for Space. An internationally acclaimed physicist, author and broadcaster, Professor Cox will support UNOOSA¡¯s outreach efforts and promote greater understanding of how space technology can address global challenges such as climate change, disaster management and sustainable development.
Welcoming the appointment, UNOOSA Director Aarti Holla-Maini praised Cox¡¯s ability to make complex science accessible and to inspire global audiences. In his remarks, Cox emphasized that space is not only about exploration but also about practical solutions that strengthen economies and improve lives on Earth.
