The UN Library Consortium (UNSEIAC)
Collaborative Procurement. Global Knowledge. Maximized Value.
Before our inception, UN entities often negotiated the same subscriptions independently, leading to duplicated efforts and fragmented costs. Today, we provide a unified front that leverages the collective power of the UN system.
Established in 1997 with 20 members, the United Nations System Electronic Information Acquisitions Consortium (UNSEIAC), also known as the UN Library Consortium, empowers United Nations programmes, funds, and agencies to collaboratively acquire and manage electronic information resources.
Our Mission
To provide United Nations entities with efficient, coordinated, and cost effective access to high quality electronic information resources.
Our Growth
Since our founding, we have grown from a small group of five pioneering libraries to a robust network of 49 participating member libraries across the UN system.
How We Work

-
Collective Power
Benefit from significantly reduced subscription costs through expert-led price negotiations handled by the Consortium Coordinators and the UN Procurement Office.
-
Technical Support
We provide dedicated assistance for technical access issues and platform management.
-
Simplified Billing
We consolidate complex multi-vendor billing into a single annual invoice per member agency.
