\nKhiari stated that the UN Secretary-General unequivocally condemned the widespread killing and injury of civilians in Gaza, including children and women, and the destruction of homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques. He also strongly condemned the loss of lives and injuries of Palestinians seeking aid in Gaza and called for an immediate and independent investigation into these events and for perpetrators to be held accountable. Mr. Khiari also stated that the escalating violence in the occupied West Bank was alarming as military operations by Israeli security forces in the northern West Bank have resulted in high levels of fatalities, including women and children, significant population displacement,\u202fand destruction of homes and infrastructure, particularly in refugee camps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
