We need an immediate ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and a return to dialogue with a view to finding diplomatic solutions to the conflicts in the region.<\/p>\n<p>No sustainable peace will be achieved militarily. Only a two-state solution, based on\u00a0the UN Charter, international law, and\u00a0relevant UN resolutions, can guarantee lasting peace and security for both the people of Israel and Palestine and indeed for the rest of the region.<\/p>\n<p>I call for all parties \u2013 Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah \u2013 to abide by\u00a0their obligations under\u00a0international law, including international humanitarian law.
