UNITED NATIONS PALESTINE COMMISSION<\/p><\/div>\n

The following communication has been received from the representative of the United Kingdom:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“9th February, 1948.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Dear Bunche,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Please refer to your letter of 3rd February (to which I sent an <\/span>interim reply<\/a> on 4th February) regarding a report that on or about 1st February, Hagana patrols had ‘spotted Lebanese officers surveying ground for gun and mortar positions’ in Upper Galilee.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

I have now received a telegram from Jerusalem saying that no information is available there about the alleged discovery by Hagana patrols on or about 1st February. The telegram goes on to say that if the report is true, the Jewish authorities have failed to pass on the information to the Government of Palestine.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

You will no doubt bring this to the notice of the Commission.<\/p><\/div>\n
