Procedure for Meeting with the Arab Delegations <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The SECRETARY made reference to the fact that, after consultation with the Chairman, it has been decided to delete from the Agenda for the forthcoming meeting with the Arab delegations the question of mixed working groups for evaluation of damages to Arab property in Israel, in view of the attitude of the Israeli delegation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Reuniting separated Families<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In view of the explanations and assurances given the previous day by the Israeli delegation with regard to its Government’s position on the question of separated families, the Committee decided<\/i> to press the Arab delegations to agree to the immediate implementation of the limited plan for the reunion of families, reserving if they wished, their position on the question of principle involved.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

With regard to the question of blocked accounts, the SECRETARY pointed out that no discussion of detail had as yet been held with the Israeli delegation. Mr. Hirsch had stated that when the Arab delegations had accepted the principle of reciprocity, his delegation would be ready to discuss their precise interpretation of that principle.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

It was decided<\/i> that the Secretariat would prepare a working paper on the Israeli proposal regarding the blocked accounts.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Preliminary Report of the Technical Committee on Arab orange groves in Israel (<\/span>document Com.Tech.\/5<\/a>)<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

As regards the report of the Technical Committee on the condition of the orange groves, the Committee agreed with the CHAIRMAN’S view that the report was of a preliminary and provisional nature and should not be communicated to the Arab delegations; it was considered preferable to await receipt of the report of Mr. Delbes, the agricultural export, which was expected within a few days.<\/p><\/div>\n
