1. Approval of the Note to be sent to the Arab States and Israel following on their reply to the Conciliation Commission’s Note of  11 May 1950<\/u> <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Commission turned to the text of the note which it proposed to send to the Arab States and Israel, clarifying certain points in its Note of 11 May 1950, and approved<\/i> the wording of the note.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The CHAIRMAN said that the note, giving the parties concerned full explanations as to the procedure proposed by the Commission for the future negotiations, might be handed direct to the representatives of the various Governments. Mr. de Boisanger (France) would hand it to the head of the Egyptian delegation, the United States representative to the Lebanese, Jordan and Israeli representatives, and Mr. Eralp (Turkey) to the Syrian representative.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

It was so decided<\/i>.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2. The question of re representation of the refugees on the Mixed Committee dealing with the problems concerning them<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Mr. de BOISANGER (France) drew the Commission’s attention to the problem of representation of the refugees on the Mixed Committee which was to study all matters of primary concern to them.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

There was some discussion on the various ways in which such representation might be arranged.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The CHAIRMAN thought it was a question which the Commission could not afford to neglect, and asked the members to reflect on it.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3. Communication from the Head of the Egyptian delegation to the Conciliation Commission concerning the representation of Yemen<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The PRINCIPAL.SECRETARY read a telegram from Mr. Mostafa Bey to the Conciliation Commission stating that he had been asked by the Yemen Government to act as its representative on the Conciliation Commission, and that he had agreed to do so.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Commission took note of this communication<\/i>.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

4. Telegram from General Riley<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The PRINCIPAL SECRETARY informed the Commission that he had received a telegram from General Riley in answer to the telegram he had sent General Riley following the Commission’s decision on 19 May 1950.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Commission decided that no action was called for by the Commission, as General Riley’s remarks were addressed to the Secretary-General.<\/p><\/div>\n
