The following communications, concerning German Enemy Property and other assets formerly under the control of the Palestine Custodian, has been received from Mr. Fletcher-Cooke of the United Kingdom Delegation.<\/p><\/div>\n

My dear Cordier,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

I understand that communications relating to matters previously dealt with by the United Nations Palestine Commission should now be addressed to you.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2. May I refer you to <\/span>my Confidential letter to Bunche dated 20th April<\/a> with which I enclosed for the information and consideration of the Commission a memorandum on German Enemy Property and other assets formerly under the control of the Palestine Custodian.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3. In paragraph 12 of that memorandum it was stated that the Anglo-Italian Property and. Debts Agreement of 17th April, 1947 has been extended to Palestine although it would not be fulfilled when the United Kingdom Mandate ended.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

4. Although it was the intention of His Majesty’s Government to extend this agreement to Palestine before the termination of the Mandate this was not in fact done. I have therefore been asked to bring this matter to your notice and to ask you to be so good as to correct the memorandum accordingly.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

5. I have been instructed to add that this correction is brought to your notice without prejudice to any action which His Majesty’s Government may have to take as a result of the Commission’s views as expressed in Bunche’s letter to myself of the 12th May.<\/p><\/div>\n
