Dear Mr. Bulos,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In regard to your <\/span>letter of 15 June 1949<\/a>, I desire to inform you that after consideration by the General Committee of the suggestions made therein, the Conciliation Commission wishes to make the following observations:<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Concerning the reunion of separated families, the Conciliation Commission has made the General Committee responsible for the study of this question with all the delegations present in Lausanne. The Commission has also requested its Technical Committee to collect information on the spot concerning the steps taken or contemplated by the competent authorities to prepare for the reuniting of these families.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In regard to section (2) of your letter (repatriation and resettlement of certain refugees), the Conciliation Commission has considered your suggestions. At the present time the Commission has under study the whole question of the means of facilitating repatriation and resettlement within the terms of paragraph 11 of the General Assembly’s <\/span>resolution of 11 December 1948<\/a>. This study, which has not yet been completed, will take into account your plan for repatriation and resettlement. In regard to the possibilities of utilizing the existing distribution of refugee relief in connection with your proposed plan, it is suggested that you might discuss this aspect with the Director of the United Nations Relief for Palestine Refugees.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
