Q    Can you tell us whether the President agrees with the wording or the sentiment behind what Secretary Kerry said on Friday about Israel risking going towards an apartheid state?<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

MR. CARNEY:  Well, I think Secretary Kerry has, in substantial fashion, issued a statement, and I would point you to what Secretary Kerry said.  I would point you to the fact that Secretary Kerry has long been a staunch supporter of Israel and for more on that I would point you to what Secretary Kerry said just the other day.<\/p><\/div>\n

Q    Does the President agree with the underlying sentiment that things could head in that direction?<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

MR. CARNEY:  Look, I think that the overall point that we have made as a matter of policy, that Secretary Kerry makes repeatedly, that President Obama makes, that Prime Minister Netanyahu makes is that the desired outcome here is a two-state solution in which there is a sovereign Palestinian state and a democratic Jewish state of Israel that is secure and safe.  That’s the outcome that we seek.  That’s the outcome that both parties seek.  And that is the best outcome, in our view, for not just the Palestinian people but the Israeli people and the Israeli state.<\/p><\/div>\n

Q    Does the Secretary still have the President’s full support?<\/p><\/div>\n

MR. CARNEY:  Absolutely.<\/p><\/div>\n
