Quartet Rep Tony Blair urges the Israeli Government to release Palestinian tax revenue without delay<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Quartet Representative Tony Blair has today reiterated his call on the Israeli government to resume the transfer of Palestinian tax and customs revenue to the Palestinians "without delay".<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In a statement released this afternoon, he said:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

"I continue to call on the Israeli government to release the clearance revenues it is withholding from the Palestinian Authority without delay and resume their transfer on a regular basis. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

"Israel should release the Palestinians' funds, consistent with previous Israeli-Palestinian agreements.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

"The funds are vital for the functioning of the PA and Israel's withholding of these Palestinian funds threatens the salaries of some 180,000 employees, including Palestinian security officials who are working to provide security in the West Bank.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

"Only those who oppose peace and Israeli-Palestinian cooperation benefit from the withholding of PA funds."<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
