He reiterated his insistence that both sides should fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect civilians.\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">The Secretary-General reiterated his passionate conviction that peace and security in the region can only be achieved through political dialogue. This will require statesmanship as well as maximum restraint on all sides. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:center;padding-top:11px;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>UN MIDDLE EAST ENVOY ALARMED BY ISRAELI ATTACK IN GAZA<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\" style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">\n<li style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Terje Roed-Larsen, deplored Israel&#8217;s bombing of a Hamas leader&#8217;s house earlier today in a densely populated Gaza neighborhood, which killed three and injured at least 30.
