Commenting on the prolonged hunger strike by four Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, Quartet Representative Tony Blair said:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“I am concerned about the deteriorating health condition of the four prisoners, one of whom has been on a hunger strike for over 200 days. As I have previously said, Israel must respect the human rights of all prisoners and provide them with all necessary medical assistance and legal recourse to due process according to international standards. This issue needs to be resolved quickly in order to avoid a tragic outcome which has the potential to destabilise the situation on the ground.”<\/p><\/div>\n
