Quartet Envoys’ Joint Press Statement<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Oslo, 10 February 2016<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

On 8 and 9 February, Envoys of the Middle East Quartet met in Oslo as part of their continued engagement with key regional and international stakeholders. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Envoys from the European Union, the Russian Federation, the United States and the United Nations met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Brende and the Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process, Ambassador Tor Wennesland. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Quartet Envoys highlighted the vital contributions Norway has made over the years to the pursuit of achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on a two-state solution. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Quartet Envoys condemned in the strongest possible terms all acts of terror and violence against civilians. They also expressed concern about current trends on the ground that pose a threat to the two-state solution and reiterated the call for concrete steps that resume the transition contemplated by the Oslo Accords. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Envoys look forward to the upcoming Principals meeting in Munich. <\/p><\/div>\n
