The World Food Program is appealing for funding to aid a major portion of Gaza's population. <\/p><\/div>\n

The agency says it will take up to 2 million dollars a month to feed those in need. WFP spokesperson Kirstie Campbell says 70 percent of the population has to choose between putting food on the table or a roof over their heads. <\/p><\/div>\n

"The situation in Gaza is continuing to be extremely grave. The population has experienced extremely tight restrictions to basic commodities for the last almost seven months; since last June. Only about half of the basic needs, in terms of the food needs, are getting through and the populations are becoming increasingly reliant on humanitarian assistance." <\/p><\/div>\n
