\t<\/span>The Economic and Social Council,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> General Assembly resolutions 3210 (XXIX) of 14 October 1974, 3236 (XXIX) and 3237 (XXIX) of November 1974 and Council resolutions 1978 (LIX) of 31 July 1975 and 2026 (LXI) of 4 August 1976,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Taking into consideration<\/i> the report of the Secretary-General on assistance of the Council,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Bearing in mind<\/i> the views expressed during the sixty-third session of the Council,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Calls once more<\/i> upon the United Nations Development Programme, the specialized agencies and other organizations within the United Nations system to continue and to intensify, as a matter of urgency and in co-ordination with the Economic Commission for Western Asia, their efforts in identifying the social and economic needs of the Palestinian people;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Urges<\/i> these agencies and organizations to consult and co-operate closely with the Palestine Liberation Organization, the representative of the Palestinian people, with a view to establishing and fully implementing concrete projects to ensure the improvement of the social and economic conditions of the Palestinian people;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Calls<\/i> upon agencies and organizations within the United Nations system that have not taken the necessary action in conformity with council resolution 2026 (LXI) to do so as a matter of priority;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Urges<\/i> the executive heads of the organizations and agencies concerned to formulate and submit to their respective governing and\/or legislative bodies concrete proposals for ensuring, in co-operation with the Palestine Liberation Organization, the effective implementation of the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 2 above;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to submit annual report to the Council on the action taken by the agencies and organizations concerned and the results achieved.<\/p><\/div>\n
