The Executive Board,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1. Having examined document 162 EX\/42,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2. Decides to include this item in the agenda of its 167th session;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3. Recommends to the General Conference that it adopt, at its 31st session, the following draft resolution:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The General Conference,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Recalling <\/i>the provisions of Article II of the Constitution of UNESCO relating to the admission of new Member States,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Recalling <\/i>its previous resolutions and the decisions of the Executive Board regarding the admission of Palestine to UNESCO,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Having examined <\/i>the report of the Director-General (31 C\/26),<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1. Thanks <\/i>the Director-General for having spared no effort to increase and enhance the participation of Palestine in UNESCO’s programmes and activities so as to make it as close as possible;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2. Expresses <\/i>the hope that it will be able to consider this item favourably at its next session, in the light of the progress made in the peace process;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n
