Gaza Strip:<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The IDF killed 26 Palestinians and injured 63 others in the Gaza Strip, the highest weekly total of Palestinian deaths and injuries due to direct conflict since mid-May 2007.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>Four Palestinians were injured due to the reckless handling of explosives. One Palestinian bystander was killed and another was injured in an armed family dispute.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>41 Qassams and 74 mortars were fired towards Israel. In addition, 52 mortars were fired at IDF soldiers inside the Gaza Strip.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The Israeli Air Force carried out a total of 11 air strikes.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>During the IDF military operation in Al Bureij Camp on 6 January, IDF bulldozers uprooted about 80 dunums of olive trees.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>On 2 January, 15 Palestinian patients crossed Erez and travelled to Jordan for medical treatment. On the same day, approximately 2,200 Palestinian pilgrims stranded in Egypt entered the Gaza Strip through Rafah crossing.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>Kerem Shalom crossing was open on six days this week for the entry of commercial and humanitarian good and the export of carnations.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

West Bank:<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The IDF injured 57 Palestinians, including 26 children. The majority (38) were injured during the IDF military operation in the old city of Nablus between 3 and 5 January.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>Israeli settlers hit with a stone and injured a 30-year-old Palestinian (Hebron).<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The IDF killed a 17-year-old Palestinian allegedly because they considered him a wanted person (Jenin)<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The IDF demolished 9 tents and 7 barracks in Ramallah and Tubas governorates due to the lack of building permits.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>As of 2 January, the Dead Sea checkpoint was converted into a partial checkpoint. Palestinians with West Bank IDs and Palestinian-plated vehicles are no longer prohibited from accessing the Dead Sea area.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>A 23-year-old pregnant woman gave birth at Al Shuhada checkpoint when the IDF prevented her and her husband from crossing on their way to the hospital (Hebron).<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>On 8 January, 11 Palestinians affiliated with Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades handed themselves over to the PA security forces based on the presumption that they would<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

benefit from an agreement between the PA and the GoI on an amnesty list (Nablus).<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>The IDF imposed 86 curfew hours on localities in the northern West Bank.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

•<\/span> <\/span>80 flying checkpoints, 99 search operations and 118 arrests\/detentions were reported.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
