G<\/strong>eneva to Host ‘Peace Is Possible — Frameworks for a Way Forward’ Conference In Support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace, 29-30 June<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The United Nations Palestinian Rights Committee will convene the United Nations International Conference in Support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace at the United Nations Office at Geneva on 29 and 30 June.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Experienced peace negotiators, international experts including from Israel and the State of Palestine, as well as from the United Nations, civil society and academics, will gather at the Palais des Nations to discuss lessons learned from past initiatives related to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and assess recent initiatives by key actors.  The Conference intends to promote a discussion of new ideas for a lasting solution to the conflict.<\/p><\/div>\n

The opening session will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 29 June, in Room XVII at the Palais.  Expected to participate in the conference are Riad Malki, Foreign Minister of the State of Palestine; Fodé Seck, Chairman of the Committee; Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva; Miroslav Jenča, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs; Ayman Odeh, Head of the Joint List in the Israeli Knesset; senior Palestinian peace negotiator Mohammed Shtayyeh; Gadi Baltiansky, Director of the Geneva Initiative-Israel; and others.<\/p><\/div>\n
