Palestine entrepreneurship drive takes hold with the support of the European Training Foundation<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

As part of the European Union’s wider support to Palestine and its neighbouring countries, experts from the European Training Foundation (ETF) joined high-level representatives of government, business and civic society in Ramallah on 20-22 April for a review of progress on entrepreneurial learning and enterprise skills.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The assessment included an in-depth focus on enterprise training needs and skills. A thorough exchange between government departments, business associations and women’s entrepreneurship advocacy groups focused also on the potential for economic empowerment of women working in the informal economy. <\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“I am particularly impressed by the energy and effort to introduce entrepreneurship in different levels of the learning system,”<\/i> said Denise Loughran, who led the ETF delegation. Jafar Hdaib, Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency, specifically called on the ETF to provide examples of national strategies for entrepreneurial learning from EU member states from which Palestine could learn in the finalisation of its own strategy.<\/p><\/div>\n

The ETF assessment mission formed part of a wider review of policy and practice of entrepreneurship promotion in the EU’s southern neighbourhood enshrined within the region’s commitment to the EU's Small Business Act.<\/strong> A report covering the key findings and recommendations for Palestine will be published at the end of the year.<\/p><\/div>\n

The <\/span>ETF<\/strong><\/span> – <\/span>European Training Foundation<\/strong><\/span> is an EU agency that helps transition and developing countries to harness the potential of their human capital through the reform of education, training and labour market systems in the context of the EU's external relations policy.
