France condemns the violence that led to the death of Ziad Abu Ein, a Palestinian official and former Deputy Minister for Prisoner Affairs, during a peaceful demonstration on the outskirts of the Palestinian village of Turmus Aya.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

We extend our condolences to Ziad Abu Ein’s family and share the grief of the Palestinian people.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

We call on the Israeli authorities to shed full light on the circumstances behind this tragedy.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

In the current context of heightened tensions in the West Bank and in Jerusalem, France calls on all parties to take measures to ease tensions and to demonstrate a sense of responsibility.<\/p><\/div>\n
