Secretary-General Warns Rocket Attacks on Israel by Palestinian Extremists Could Risk Dangerous Escalation<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The Secretary-General condemns the recent rocket attacks by extremist Palestinian militants on Israel from Gaza.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Such indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas risk a dangerous escalation and must stop.  The people of southern Israel and Gaza have suffered enough from such violence.<\/p><\/div>\n
