font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>&quot;The importance of establishing a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East region has increased since many countries have squandered their human and natural resources and capabilities in grinding wards that have brought no benefits to anyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;Egypt took the initiative in calling for establishing peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;I do not want to bore you with much talk but want to tell you one thing, namely that Egypt opted for peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;We started with the October war because it was the key to peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;We started by embarking on negotiations.&nbsp;&nbsp;We got our territory back as a result of military power, negotiations, and international justice.&nbsp;&nbsp;But let no one ever think that your issues or rights will be brought to you on a silver platter while you are sitting down.&nbsp;&nbsp;Wars have never decided an issue.&nbsp;&nbsp;Wars might propel the peace process, help the peace process, or start the peace but they never decide anything.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;font-size:10pt;font-family:Courier New, serif, monospace;margin-left:60px;\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>&quot;We are helping the Palestinian issue as much as we can.&nbsp;&nbsp;We have exerted our efforts.&nbsp;&nbsp;I read a statement by someone about a week ago in which he said that Egypt is exerting pressure on the Palestinians.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are not exerting pressures on anyone or imposing a view on anybody.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are helping.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are contacting the United States and Israel.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are trying to remove the obstacles.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are daily demands and we are really helping them as much as we can.&nbsp;&nbsp;No country helps them more than Egypt and they know that.&nbsp;&nbsp;I tell you frankly that they do not deny this.&nbsp;&nbsp;They know that Egypt is their support in the Palestinian issue and we are exerting great efforts to resolve the issue.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are negotiations now.&nbsp;&nbsp;As to the current negotiations in the United States, whether with Syria or with the others, we should expect that they will not proceed smoothly.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are obstacles.&nbsp;&nbsp;We did face obstacles.&nbsp;&nbsp;We faced mountains of problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;But through perseverance, continued proposals, and determination they will reach a solution.&nbsp;&nbsp;A year passed;
