Gaza Strip:<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>During the reporting period, six Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured during IDF ground military operations and IAF strikes in the Gaza Strip;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>Eight Palestinians were arrested during the reporting period, including two women;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>IDF tanks and bulldozers conducted excavation and levelling operations in North Gaza, Central Gaza and Rafah. On 31 October, the IDF discovered 7 tunnels between Israel and Gaza.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 1 November, an UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun was partly damaged, as a result of an IDF air strike. No injuries were reported.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 4 November, thirty nine Qassam rockets and 17 mortar shells were fired towards Israel (seven Qassam rockets and one mortar shell landed in Gaza). According to Israeli media, one rocket hit one of Sderot’s power lines and caused blackout. One house and several buildings were damaged. No injuries were reported.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 5 November, a Palestinian policeman was killed when he intervened to stop an armed family feud. Sixteen others were injured in armed family disputes and reckless use of weapons.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 1 November, approximately 200 children participated in a candlelight vigil to demand an end to the Israeli blockade of Gaza.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 5 November, several thousand Palestinians gathered near the border wall between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, demanding the reopening of the Rafah terminal.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 6 November, several Palestinian fuel trucks moved through the streets of Gaza City protesting Israel’s decision to reduce the amount of fuel entering Gaza.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>A sit-in which began on 29 October by families demanding to visit their relatives imprisoned in Israeli jails continued during the reporting period. A tent has been set up in front of the ICRC office in Gaza city.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

West Bank:<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>The Palestinian Authority deployed 308 policemen in Nablus city as part of the PA plan to restore law and order in the city.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>The Israeli DCL officer in Ramallah district informed OCHA that Barrier construction is on hold pending a decision by the Ministry of Defence for financial reasons.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>It was reported by the Israeli DCL officer for Jerusalem peripheries that the Barrier is continuing to be constructed as projected in that area. No orders to stop the Barrier<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

construction in Jerusalem were given to the IDF as mentioned in the media.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>On 31 October, an 18 year-old Palestinian male from Al Fawwar Refugee Camp (Hebron) was found carrying knives near the Ibrahimi Mosque and arrested. On 5 November, a 17 year-old Palestinian female was arrested after IDF soldiers at a checkpoint near the settlement of Tel Rumeida found a knife in her possession. On 6 November, a 16 yearold Palestinian male from the H2 area of Hebron city was arrested by the IDF near the Ibrahimi Mosque after attempting to stab a soldier.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

• <\/span>During the reporting period, up to 20,000 settlers and their sympathisers, entered the H2 area of Hebron to celebrate the religious holiday of “The Life of Sarah.” Attacks against Palestinians and their property were reported, especially near the settlements of Tel Rumeida, Giv'at Havot and Al Rajabi House. Also, a military order was issued prohibiting the presence of internationals on Al Shohada and Tel Rumeida streets until 22:00 on 4 November.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
