Q : Yesterday, the Israeli authorities announced a new invitation to tender for settlements. What is France’s response?<\/p><\/div>\n

A : France remains extremely concerned by the increase in the number of announcements relating to settlement activity. The issuing yesterday of invitations to tender in Maale Adumim, which falls within the framework of the plans to build 3,000 new homes which France condemned, is another negative development.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

We urge Israel not to implement these illegal projects which pose a threat to the two-state solution.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The EU Foreign Affairs Council clearly expressed its views on this matter on Monday, stressing that the EU will continue to closely monitor developments relating to settlement activity and will act accordingly.<\/p><\/div>\n
