GAZA CHILDREN TO ATTEMPT TO BREAK WORLD RECORD IN U.N.-ORGANIZED SUMMER GAMES<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The Summer Games 2011 that are organized by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) began almost two weeks ago.<\/p><\/div>\n

On Thursday, more than 3,000 UNRWA students in Gaza are expected to break the first of four world records by playing parachute games at the Khan Younis Stadium.<\/p><\/div>\n

A HUMANITARIAN AID INTO GAZA SHOULD ENTER THROUGH ESTABLISHED ROUTES: <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Asked about a flotilla that is expected to travel to Gaza, the Spokesperson recalled that the Secretary-General has urged leaders in the region to avoid taking actions that could raise tensions and has called on those who want to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza to use the established aid routes. The Secretary-General and the United Nations, including through the UN’s role in the Quartet, have pushed for an end to the closures into and out of Gaza.<\/p><\/div>\n
