Over 1,000 Gazans were killed, more than <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irinnews.org\/Report.aspx?ReportId=88378\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">5,000 wounded<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">, over 50,000 were displaced, and over 4,000 homes <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irinnews.org\/Report.aspx?ReportId=88032\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">totally destroyed<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">. <\/p>\n<p>Gazans are still <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irinnews.org\/Report.aspx?ReportId=87954\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">picking up the pieces<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:8pt;font-family:Tahoma, san-serif;\">&nbsp;from last year&#8217;s war and there are high levels of poverty, deprivation and unemployment.
