LETTER DATED 27 SEPTEMBER 1978 FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE<\/p><\/div>\n

ON THE EXERCISE OF THE INALIENABLE RIGHTS OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE<\/p><\/div>\n

ADDRESSED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL<\/p><\/div>\n

I have the honour to draw your attention to paragraph <\/span>4 <\/span>of General Assembly resolution 32\/40, in which the Security Council was urged to take as soon as possible a decision on the recommendations of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People endorsed by the General Assembly in its resolution 31\/20.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

In this connexion, the Committee has authorized me, as its Chairman, to refer to the statement made on 27 October <\/span>1977 <\/span>by the President of the Security Council at the conclusion of the latest consideration of those recommendations by the Council, in which he indicated that the Council had agreed to adjourn the debate on that item for the time being and that the date of the next meeting of the Council on the item would be fixed after consultation among the members of the Council (S\/PV.2041). Since then, a long period of time has elapsed and certain events have occurred; the Committee therefore expresses the hope that the Security Council will soon take a decision on its recommendations.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

You will find attached hereto a copy of the two reports<\/span>[Link<\/a>]  <\/span>[Link<\/a>] that the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People submitted to the General Assembly at its thirty-first and thirty-second sessions, containing the recommendations which the Security Council has been requested to re-examine.*<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

I should be obliged if you would have the text of this letter circulated as a Security Council document.<\/p><\/div>\n
