\t<\/span>The General Assembly,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> its resolution ES-7\/5 of 26 June 1982,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling also<\/i> Security Council resolution 512 (1982) of 19 June 1982,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> further Economic and Social Council resolution 1982\/48 of 27 July 1982,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Expressing its deep alarm<\/i> at the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, which claimed the lives of a very large number of civilian Palestinians,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Horrified<\/i> by the Sabra and Shatila massacre,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting with deep concern<\/i> the dire need of the Palestinian victims of the Israeli invasion for urgent humanitarian assistance,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting also<\/i> the need to provide economic and social assistance to the Palestinian people,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Condemns<\/i> Israel for its invasion of Lebanon, which inflicted severe damage on civilian Palestinians, including heavy losses of human lives, intolerable sufferings and massive material destruction;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Endorses<\/i> Economic and Social Council resolution 1982\/48;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Calls upon<\/i> Governments and relevant United Nations bodies to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian victims of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the relevant programmes, organizations, agencies and organs of the United Nations system to intensify their efforts, in co-operation with the Palestine Liberation Organization, to provide economic and social assistance to the Palestinian people;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Also requests<\/i> that United Nations assistance to the Palestinians in the Arab host countries should be rendered in co-operation with the Palestine Liberation Organization and with the consent of the concerned Arab host Government;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>6.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its thirty-eighth session, through the Economic and Social Council, on the progress made in the implementation of the present resolution.<\/p><\/div>\n
