Letter dated 11 December 1995 from the Permanent Representative of<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to our earlier letters concerning repeated Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa, I have the honour to notify you of a series of Israeli attacks that occurred in the second half of November 1995.<\/p><\/div>\n

16 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1030 hours, land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju' and Ayn Bu Siwar came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1300 hours, Ayn al-Tinah mountain came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1630 hours, land belonging to Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr and Kafr Dijjal came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1800 hours, Ayn al-Tinah mountain came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

17 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli aircraft overflew the Iqlim al-Tuffah region.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0800 hours, Maydun and Ayn al-Tinah hills came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

18 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju' and Bu Siwar came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2015 hours, the southern hills of Ayn al-Tinah came under Israeli artillery fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

19 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0530 hours, an Israeli military vessel seized a fishing boat with the following on board:  Husayn Ibrahim Umays; Muhammad Hani Safi al-Din.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0930 hours, Israeli military aircraft overflew the Iqlim al-Tuffah region.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1530 hours, land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju' and Ayn Bu Siwar came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1630 hours, the southern hills of Ayn al-Tinah came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

20 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli military aircraft overflew the areas of Nabatiyah and Iqlim al-Tuffah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Land belonging to Tibnin, Haris, Kafra and Yatar came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

21 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli forces, at sea off the coast of Tyre, seized a fishing boat with the following on board:  Mahmud Ahmad Husayn; Husayn Na'im Ghanim; Hasan Na'im Ghanim.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli forces bombarded land belonging to Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, and the bombardment subsequently spread to land belonging to Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr and Mazra'at Kafr Dijjal.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

22 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1000 hours, Israeli forces bombarded land belonging to Bra'shit, Shaqra, Tibnin and Ayta al-Jabal.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1330 hours, Israeli forces bombarded Maydun hills and Tallat Abu Rashid.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1630 hours, Israeli forces bombarded land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju' and Ayn Bu Siwar, which subsequently spread to the Mlita hills, Jabal Safi and the area around the banks of the Litani.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

24 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The outlying areas of Marj Uyun came under artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Land belonging to Ayta al-Jabal, Haddatha and Tibnin came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

25 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Land belonging to Tibnin, Bra'shit and Ayta al-Jabal came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

26 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0300 hours, land belonging to Zibqin, Hadiqin and Jabal al-Butm came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0530 hours, the outlying areas of Kafr Tibnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, Mazra'at al-Hamra and the course of the Litani river came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0800 hours, land belonging to Qabrikha, Tulin, Majdal Silm, Sawwanah, Khirbat Silm, Tibnin, Haddatha, Bra'shit and Mita al-Jabal came under Israeli artillery bombardment, and Israeli helicopters combed the wadis running from Majdal Silm and Khirbat Silm.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1310 hours, Israeli military aircraft carried out three successive raids over land belonging to Jba', Ayn Bu Siwar, the Mlita hills and Jabal Safi.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

27 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0500 hours, land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju', the Mlita hills, Jabal Safi and the course of the Zahrani river in Iqlim al-Tuffah came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0600 hours, the southern hills of Mashgharah and the outlying areas of Ayn al-Tinah came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1600, Israeli forces bombarded land belonging to Kafr Tibnin, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah and Yuhmur.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

28 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0400 hours, an Israeli military boat seized a fishing boat of the coast of Adlun, with the following on board:  Muhammad Abd Ramadan; Muhammad Ali Rabab.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0700 hours, Israeli forces bombarded the land of Khirbat Silm, Jumayjimah, Shaqra, Bra'shit, Kabrikha, Tulin, Majdal Silm and Tibnin.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0730 hours, land belonging to Nabatiyah al-Fawqa, Kafr Tibnin, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0900 hours, Israeli military aircraft overflew the regions of Nabatiyah and Iqlim al-Tuffah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1030 hours, an official of Hizbullah was killed when a booby-trapped car exploded in Jibshit.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1130 hours, Israeli forces bombarded land belonging to Zibqin, Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Gharbah, Qulaylah, Siddiqin, Jibal al-Butm and Ramadiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Simultaneously, Israeli military aircraft overflew the area, and Israeli military boats were observed off the coast between Naqurah and Funduq al-Mu'nis.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1145 hours, Iraqi military aircraft overflew the Bint Jubayl region and dropped five rockets on Wadi al-Ayshiyah between Khirbat Silm and Majdal Silm. They returned at 1230 hours and dropped two rockets at the same place.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1230 hours, Nabatiyah and the eastern sector of Kafr Rumman came under Israeli artillery bombardment.  Israeli helicopters carried out three successive raids over the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

29 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0830 hours, land belonging to Kafr Tibnin and Nabatiyah al-Fawqa and the area around the abandoned Lebanese Army barracks in Nabatiyah came under Israeli artillery bombardment.  Israeli forces also bombarded land belonging to Khirbat Silm, Majdal Silm and Sawwanah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1030 hours, land belonging to Arabsalim, Jarju', Ayn Bu Siwar, the Mlita hills and Jabal Safi came under Israeli artillery bombardment.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1515 hours, Israeli military aircraft carried out a raid over Jabal Ayn al-Tinah and then returned and carried out a second raid in the same place at 1600.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1600 hours, two shells were fired at the hills of Mazra'at al-Fahd.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

30 November 1995<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0630 hours, Bra'shit, Shaqra, Haddatha, Yatar, Kafra, Ayta al-Jabal and land belonging to Tibnin, Haris, Jumayjimah and Majdal Silm came under Israeli artillery bombardment, and private schools and shops were closed.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government strongly condemns the continuation of the Israeli attacks that have caused enormous damage to property and strongly condemns the arbitrary practices against civilians.  This new series of attacks comes in addition to earlier attacks and constitutes a blatant attack on the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and a new and flagrant violation of international law and fundamental human rights.<\/p><\/div>\n

 \t<\/span>I request you to have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 44, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
