Letter dated 22 January 2010 from the Secretary-General to the President of the Security Council<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Subsequent to the Board of Inquiry <\/span>report <\/a>into incidents in the Gaza Strip between 27 December 2008 and 19 January 2009 and its recommendations, I have been in contact with the Government of Israel. I am pleased to report that the Government of Israel has been constructively engaged throughout this process and has agreed to continue a dialogue on ways to improve cooperation on the ground.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I would also like to express my appreciation for the manner in which all other relevant issues arising from the inquiry are being addressed, including the financial issues relating to the incidents investigated by the Board of Inquiry, which have been brought to a satisfactory resolution.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I would be grateful if you would bring the present letter to the attention of the members of the Security Council for their information.<\/p><\/div>\n
