43.   The United Arab Emirates was deeply concerned about the systematic State terrorism conducted by the Government of Israel against the Palestinian people on the pretext of fighting terrorism. It regretted that the members of the Security Council were deluded by Israel’s false allegations, which prevented the Council from discharging its primary responsibility in resolving the question of Palestine. The United Nations had a responsibility to take effective and immediate measures to stop Israeli terrorism against the countries of the region and to ensure its withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories. If Israel had complied with the relevant resolutions, a just, comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Middle East question could have been reached long ago. <\/p><\/div>\n
