An account of the Committee&#8217;s discussion of the item is contained in the relevant summary records (A\/C.2\/65\/SR.26, 28 and 29). Attention is also drawn to the general debate held by the Committee at its 2nd to 6th meetings, from 4 to 6 October (see A\/C.2\/65\/SR.2-6).&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;For its consideration of style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the same meeting, the Director of the Regional Commissions New York Office responded to comments made and questions posed by the representative of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Observer for Palestine (see A\/C.2\/65\/SR.26).&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>II.&nbsp;&nbsp;Consideration of draft resolution <\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/pdfs\/E200A9E22137FB36852577D60064510A.pdf\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:justify;padding-top:12px;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>A\/C.2\/65\/L.31<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;\">\n<p New Roman, serif;\">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the 28th meeting, on 12 November, the representative of Egypt, on behalf of Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the Comoros, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, the Sudan, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Viet Nam, Yemen and Palestine,<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/#bmk4\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:7pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><sup><u>2<\/u><\/sup><\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:7pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><sup>&nbsp;<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">introduced a draft resolution entitled &#8220;Permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources&#8221; (A\/C.2\/65\/L.31).<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the same meeting, the representative of Egypt announced that Bolivia (Plurinational State of), Brunei Darussalam, Gabon and Guinea-Bissau had joined in sponsoring the draft resolution.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">8.&nbsp;&nbsp;At its 29th meeting on 18 November, the Committee was informed that the draft resolution had no programme budget implications.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">9.&nbsp;&nbsp;Also at the same meeting, the representative of Egypt informed the Committee that Ecuador, Namibia and Pakistan had joined in sponsoring the draft resolution.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;padding-top:10px;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\">10.&nbsp;&nbsp;Also at its 29th meeting, the Committee adopted draft resolution A\/C.2\/65\/L.31 by a recorded vote of 162 to 7, with 3 abstentions (see para. 13).
