Draft resolution on economic and social repercussions of the Israeli settlements<\/u> on the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, occupied since 1967, and on the Arab population of the Syrian Golan<\/u> (A\/C.2\/48\/L.17)<\/p><\/div>\n

Draft resolution on assistance to the Palestinian people<\/u> (A\/C.2\/48\/L.18)<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

42.\t<\/span>Mr. AHMIA<\/u> (Algeria), introducing the draft resolutions, said that certain amendments had been proposed to the text of draft resolution A\/C.2\/48\/L.17, and he hoped that further informal consultations might lead to a text acceptable to most delegations.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

43.\t<\/span>Draft resolution A\/C.2\/48\/L.18 had been prepared in the light of the latest developments in the peace process, which would shortly lead to the establishment of a Palestinian entity.  He hoped that it would be adopted by consensus.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

44.\t<\/span>Mr. AMAZIANE<\/u> (Morocco) said that his delegation had not yet received instructions from the Moroccan authorities; therefore, it was not yet a sponsor of draft resolution A\/C.2\/48\/L.17.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

45.\t<\/span>The CHAIRMAN<\/u> announced that Indonesia had become a sponsor of both draft resolutions.<\/p><\/div>\n
