    Letter dated 24 March 2005 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council (S\/2005\/203) <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

  The President<\/strong> (spoke in Chinese<\/i> ): The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  Members of the Council have before them document S\/2005\/203, which contains a letter dated 24 March 2005 from the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the Fact-finding Mission to Lebanon. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  Members of the Council also have before them document S\/2005\/227, which contains the text of a draft resolution submitted by Denmark, France, Greece, Japan, Philippines, Romania, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and United States of America. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  I should also like to draw the attention of members of the Council to the following documents: <\/span>S\/2005\/208<\/a>, letter dated 29 March 2005 from Lebanon addressed to the Secretary-General; <\/span>S\/2005\/209,<\/a> identical letters dated 29 March 2005 from the Syrian Arab Republic addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council; and <\/span>S\/2005\/219<\/span>, letter dated 23 March 2005 from Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic addressed to the President of the Security Council. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution. Unless I hear any objection, I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now. <\/p><\/div>\n

  There being no objection, it is so decided.<\/p><\/div>\n

  A vote was taken by show of hands.<\/p><\/div>\n

  The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda. <\/p><\/div>\n
