QUESTION OF AN INTERNATIONAL REGIME FOR THE JERUSALEM AREA<\/p><\/div>\n

AND PROTECTION OF THE HOLY PLACES<\/p><\/div>\n

Resolution adopted by the Trusteeship Council<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

at the tenth meeting on 14 June 1950<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Trusteeship Council<\/u>,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Having received<\/u> the request of the General Assembly concerning an international regime for the Jerusalem area and the protection of the Holy Places contained in resolution 303 (IV) of 9 December 1949,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Having approved<\/u> on 4 April 1950 a Statute for the City of Jerusalem (T\/592) in accordance with that resolution,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Having entrusted<\/u> to its President the mission of transmitting to the Governments of Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of the Jordan the text of the Statute and of requesting their full co-operation,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Having received<\/u> no reply from the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of the Jordan and an expression of views from the Government of Israel as a result of which it appears that neither Governments is prepared to collaborate in the implementation of the Statute as approved by the Trusteeship Council,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Decides<\/u> to submit to the General Assembly the attached report together with copies of the Statute as approved by the Council, the reports of President Garreau to the members of the Council and the reply of the Government of Israel dated 26 May 1950.<\/p><\/div>\n
