Resolution 20\/14: Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Governing Council, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling its resolution 19\/18 of 9 May 2003, entitled “Human settlements development in the occupied Palestinian territories”, in which it endorsed the establishment of the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People and the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund of $5 million for an initial period of two years,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting with appreciation the report of the Executive Director on progress in the implementation of the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People,<\/span> <\/span>1<\/sup><\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Welcomes the progress made thus far in the implementation of the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Expresses its appreciation to those countries which have made contributions to the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund and to the housing sector; <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Reiterates its invitation to the international donor community and all financial institutions to support the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in the immediate mobilization of financial resources towards the full capitalization of the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund to enhance the effective implementation of the Programme and to assist the Palestinian National Authority in its construction efforts in the housing sector.<\/p><\/div>\n
