  The Security Council<\/i>,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/span>Reaffirming <\/i><\/span>its resolutions 1403 (2002), 1402 (2002), 1397 (2002) and 1322 (2000),<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  Reiterating <\/i>its grave concern at the continuation of tragic and violent events which have taken place since September 2000, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 Gravely concerned <\/i>at the continuation of the Israeli military attacks and the reoccupation of several Palestinian cities which started on 29 March 2002 and the escalation of those attacks in violation of resolutions 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002), <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 Gravely concerned <\/i>in particular at the humanitarian crisis existing among the Palestinian civilian population and at the impediment imposed on humanitarian organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 Expressing its shock <\/i>at the reports from the Jenin refugee camp concerning the massacre of a large number of the residents and the widespread destruction inflicted on the camp by the Israeli occupying forces, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 Stressing the need <\/i>for ensuring the safety of civilians and for the respect of international humanitarian law, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 Recalling <\/i>the obligation of Members of the United Nations to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 1.  Condemns <\/i>the failure of implementation of its resolutions 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002); <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 2.  Demands <\/i>the immediate implementation of resolution 1402 (2002);<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 3.   Demands<\/i>, <\/i>in the context of operative paragraph 2, the immediate end of the siege imposed on the Church of the Nativity in the city of Bethlehem and the headquarters of the President of the Palestinian Authority in the city of Ramallah; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 4.  Calls upon <\/i>Israel, the occupying Power, to fully and effectively respect the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 5.  Demands <\/i>full freedom of movement and activities for the personnel and vehicles of all medical and humanitarian organizations at all times throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 6.  Calls <\/i>for an international presence that could help provide better conditions on the ground; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 7.  Requests <\/i>the Secretary-General to closely follow the situation, including investigating the full scope of the tragic events that have taken place in the Jenin refugee camp, and to report regularly to the Council; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 8.  Decides <\/i>to remain seized of the matter.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n
