\n\t\t\t\tNote by the Secretary-General<\/strong> **\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t1.   In decision 2002\/244 of 25 July 2002, the Economic and Social Council, taking note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2002\/10 of 19 April 2002,<\/span>1 <\/sup><\/span>on the human rights situation of Lebanese detainees in Israel, endorsed the decision of the Commission to request the Secretary-General to bring the resolution to the attention of the Government of Israel and to call upon it 51ÁÔÆæ its provisions, and to report to the Assembly at its fifty-seventh session on the results of his efforts in that regard.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t2.   In view of the above-mentioned requests, the Secretary-General addressed a note verbale to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Israel on 10 June 2002. \n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t3.   No reply had been received at the time of the preparation of the present note.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
