Resolution adopted by the Trusteeship Council at<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

the eighth meeting on Tuesday 20 December 1949<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Trusteeship Council<\/u>,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Concerned<\/u> at the removal to Jerusalem of certain ministries and central departments of the Government of Israel,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Considering<\/u> that such action ignores and is incompatible with the provisions of paragraph II of General Assembly resolution 303 (IV) of 9 December 1949.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>Is of the opinion<\/u> that the action of the Government of Israel is likely to render more difficult the implementation of the Statute of Jerusalem with which the Council is entrusted by the General Assembly resolution of 9 December 1949;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Requests<\/u> the President of the Trusteeship Council:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

a)\t<\/span>to invite the Government of Israel to submit a written statement on the matters covered by this resolution, to revoke these measures, and to abstain from any action liable to hinder the implementation of the General Assembly resolution of 9 December 1949;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(b)\t<\/span>to keep closely in touch with the developments in Jerusalem while the Council is not in session;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Requests<\/u> the Secretary-General to communicate this resolution promptly to all Member States of the United Nations.<\/p><\/div>\n
