\t<\/span>The General Assembly<\/i>,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/span>Recalling<\/i><\/span> its resolution <\/span>212 (III) <\/a>of 19 November 1948 on assistance to Palestine refugees,<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/span>Recalling also<\/i><\/span> its resolution <\/span>35\/13 B<\/a> of 3 November 1980 and all subsequent relevant resolutions, including resolution <\/span>56\/55<\/a> of 10 December 2001,<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/span> Having considered<\/i><\/span> the <\/span>report<\/a> of the Secretary-General,<\/span>1<\/sup><\/span><\/a> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

 <\/span>\t<\/span>Having also considered<\/i><\/span> the <\/span>report<\/a> of the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East covering the period from 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2002,<\/span>2<\/sup><\/span><\/a><\/a><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Expressing its appreciation <\/i>to all Governments, specialized agencies and non-governmental organizations that responded favourably to its resolutions on this question,<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Reiterates its previous appeals<\/i> to all States, specialized agencies and non-governmental organizations to continue and to augment the special allocations for grants and scholarships to Palestine refugees, in addition to their contributions to the regular budget of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Appeals<\/i> to all States, specialized agencies and other international bodies to extend assistance for higher education to Palestine refugee students and to contribute towards the establishment of vocational training centres for Palestine refugees, and requests the Agency to act as the recipient and trustee for the special allocations for grants and scholarships;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.<\/span>\t<\/span>Appeals<\/i><\/span> to all States, specialized agencies and the United Nations University to contribute generously to the Palestinian universities in the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel since 1967, including, in due course, the proposed University of Jerusalem “Al-Quds” for Palestine refugees;<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session on the implementation of the present resolution.<\/p><\/div>\n
