font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">The situation of Palestinian and Israeli civilians, who lived in daily fear of terror and violence, was another example. That conflict could not be solved by military means. There must be a political solution based on Security Council resolutions <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/pdfs\/59210CE6D04AEF61852560C3005DA209.pdf\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;padding-top:11px;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">242 (1967)<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/pdfs\/7FB7C26FCBE80A31852560C50065F878.pdf\" style=\"color:#0000ff;text-align:left;padding-top:11px;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">338 (1973)<\/a><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">&nbsp;and on the principle of land for peace. The international community would need to be united if the outcomes of the Durban Conference were to be implemented, and any policy of double standards must be rejected. The Commission had a role to play in that regard. Similarly, given the contradictory nature of the process of globalization, the main principles of the right to development must be formulated clearly. His delegation was also prepared to make suggestions concerning the integrity of the judicial system, an issue which the Commission should consider at its current session. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;padding-top:8px;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:8pt;font-family:Arial, san-serif;\">47.<span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">His Government was convinced that the protection of human rights could be a unifying factor in modern international relations.
