\t<\/span>Having received<\/i> the report of the Secretary-General 1<\/u>\/ on basic points for the presence and functioning in Egypt of the United Nations Emergency Force,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Having received also<\/i> the report of the Secretary-General 2<\/u>\/ on arrangements for clearing the Suez Canal,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Notes with approval<\/i> the contents of the aide-memoire<\/i> on the basis for the presence and functioning of the United Nations Emergency Force in Egypt, as annexed to the report of the Secretary-General;1<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Notes with approval <\/i>the progress so far made by the Secretary-General in connexion  with arrangements for clearing the Suez Canal, as set forth in his report;2<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Authorizes<\/i> the Secretary-General to proceed with the exploration of practical arrangements and the negotiation of agreements so that the clearing operations may be speedily and effectively undertaken.<\/p><\/div>\n
