The Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted i the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers on 5 October 1972:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\tIsrael-Lebanon sector\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t1.  OP 1<\/u>\/ reports on ground activity:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tOP Ras:  Between 0445 2<\/u>\/  <\/i>and 1540 Israel forces personnel, armoured personnel carrier and trailer reoccupied position at point at approximate MR 1907-2749 north of border pillar 19.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t2.  OP reports on air activity:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tOP Khiam:  Between 0921 and 0924 four Israel forces jet aircraft in formations of two flying south-west to north-east were first observed over OP and last observed north-east of OP.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tIsrael-Syria sector <\/u>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tOP reports:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

(a)\t<\/span>OP Winter: At 0441 <\/i>machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

(b)\t<\/span>OP Romeo:  Between 0529 and 0532 machine-gun and small-arms fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(c)\t<\/span>OP Five: At 06lO machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(d)\t<\/span>OP Yoke:  Between 1001 and 1003 machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

(e)\t<\/span>OP Three:  Between 2l40 <\/i>and 2145 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.<\/p><\/div>\n
