Question of the violation of human rights in the<\/strong><\/p>\n

occupied Arab territories, including Palestine<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

\t\t<\/span>At its 40th plenary meeting, on 24 July 2001, the Economic and Social Council, taking note of <\/span>Commission on Human Rights resolution 2001\/7<\/a> of 18 April 2001, <\/span>1<\/u><\/span>\/ approved the Commission’s request to the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1967, acting as a monitoring mechanism, to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights <\/span>2<\/u><\/span>\/ and those contained in the report of the Human Rights Inquiry Commission, <\/span>3<\/u><\/span>\/ and to submit reports thereon to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session and the Commission at its fifty-eighth session.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
