Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations addressed <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

to the Secretary-General<\/strong><\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

  Upon instructions from my Government, I wish to refer to the allegations contained in the letter of 30 May 2006 (<\/span>A\/60\/867-S\/2006\/348<\/a>) from the Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations and a number of other preceding letters containing similar allegations against my country. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

  The Islamic Republic of Iran, rejecting the baseless and unsubstantiated allegations raised against it in the aforementioned letter, reiterates that this is yet another deliberate attempt by the Israeli regime to distract the international community’s attention from its act of State terrorism, war crimes and aggression that have persistently threatened the peace and security in the region for so many decades. It is evident that no amount of deception campaigned by the Israeli regime can cloud the obvious fact that the regime has a history full of terrorism, unlawful policies and inhuman acts in defiance of basic principles of international law. <\/p><\/div>\n

  Moreover, it is ironic that the Israeli regime, which has obstinately continued to flout basic principles contained in the Charter of the United Nations and fundamental principles of international law, and has been adamant in showing full contempt for all relevant resolutions of the Security Council, hypocritically urges others to fulfil the obligations set out in the Security Council resolutions. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  I should be grateful if you would have the present letter circulated as a document of the sixtieth session of the General Assembly, under agenda items 14, 31 and 108, and of the Security Council. <\/p><\/div>\n
