\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Guided<\/i> by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, in particular the provisions of Articles 1 and 55 thereof, which affirm the right of peoples to self-determination, and reaffirming the need for the scrupulous respect of the principle of refraining in international relations from the threat or use of force, as specified in the Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Cooperation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 2625 (XXV) of 24 October 1970,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Guided also<\/i> by the provisions of article 1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which affirm that all peoples have the right to self-determination,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recalling further <\/i>the conclusion of the International Court of Justice, in its advisory opinion of 9 July 2004, that the construction of the wall by Israel, the occupying Power, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, along with measures previously taken, severely impedes the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recalling <\/i>the resolutions adopted in this regard by the Commission on Human Rights, the last of which was resolution 2005\/1 of 7 April 2005,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recalling <\/i>relevant resolutions of the Commission on Human Rights, the Human Rights Council, the Security Council and the General Assembly, most recently General Assembly resolution 62\/108 of 17 December 2007 in which the Assembly reaffirmed, inter alia, the illegality of the Israeli settlements in the occupied territories,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Mindful <\/i>that Israel is a party to the Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, of 12 August 1949, which is applicable de jure to Palestinian and all Arab territories occupied by Israel since 1967, including East Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan, and recalling the declaration adopted by the Conference of High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, held in Geneva on 5 December 2001,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Considering <\/i>that the transfer by the occupying Power of parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies constitutes a breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention and relevant provisions of customary law, including those codified in Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 and relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I),\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recalling <\/i>the advisory opinion rendered on 9 July 2004 by the International Court of Justice on the Legal Consequences of the Construction of a Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory<\/i>, and its conclusion that “the Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (including East Jerusalem) have been established in breach of international law”,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recalling also <\/i>General Assembly resolution ES-10\/15 of 20 July 2004,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
