\t<\/span>The General Assembly,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> the Vancouver Declaration on Human Settlements, 1976 1<\/u>\/ and the relevant recommendations for national action 2<\/u>\/ adopted by Habitat: United Nations Conference on Human Settlements,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling also <\/i>resolution 3, entitled "Living conditions of the Palestinians in occupied territories", contained in the recommendations for international co-operation adopted by Habitat: United Nations Conference on Human Settlements,3<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling<\/i> further its resolution 36\/73 of 4 December 1981,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Takes note<\/i> of the report of the Secretary-General on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories;4<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Takes note<\/i> of the statement made by the observer of the Palestine Liberation Organization;5<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Expresses its alarm<\/i> at the deterioration in the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 as a result of the Israeli occupation;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Affirms<\/i> that the Israeli occupation is contradictory to the basic requirements for the social and economic development of the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Affirms also<\/i> that the exercise by the Palestinian people of their right to self-determination is a prerequisite for their social and economic development in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>6.\t<\/span>Calls upon<\/i> the Israeli occupation authorities to give United Nations bodies and experts access to the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>7.\t<\/span>Recognizes<\/i> the need for a comprehensive report on the social and economic conditions of the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>8.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to prepare and submit to the General Assembly at its thirty-eighth session, through the Economic and Social Council, a comprehensive report on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories.<\/p><\/div>\n
