The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 5172nd meeting, held on 29 April 2005 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the first semi-annual report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1559 (2004) (S\/2005\/272). <\/p><\/div>\n

In accordance with the understanding reached in the Council’s prior consultations, the President, with the consent of the Council, extended an invitation under rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure to Terje Roed-Larsen, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the implementation of Security Council resolution 1559 (2004). <\/p><\/div>\n
