\n\t\t\t\t AT THE 427TH MEETING, 16 JUNE 1949, CONCERNING <\/strong>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tTHE ADMISSION OF TRANSJORDAN TO MEMBERSHIP <\/strong>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tIN THE UNITED NATIONS<\/strong>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Security Council<\/u>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Noting<\/u> General Assembly resolution 197 (III), D, of 8 December 1948, regarding the application of TRANSJORDAN for membership in the United Nations,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Decides<\/u> that in its judgment TRANSJORDAN is a peace-loving State and is able and willing to carry out the obligation contained in the Charter; and accordingly\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>Recommends<\/u> to the General Assembly that it admit TRANSJORDAN to membership in the United Nations.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t—-\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tThe Security Council on 13 September 1949 voted on the draft resolution as follows:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\tIn Favour<\/strong>: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Syria, United Kingdom, United States of America.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\tAgainst<\/strong>: Poland, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
